I started cooking when I moved into my first apartment in August 2008. 6 years later, I am still cooking in the same unfortunately small kitchen. Somehow, I make it work. I didn't really know how to cook, but I had watched other people cook, and didn't think it could be that hard. Turns out, it wasn't that hard. Since the day I started cooking, I've made things up as I go. I occasionally look up recipes online for ideas, or to learn how to cook something new. Mostly, I just look up how long to cook/bake things in the oven because I have no idea about things like that.. As far as inspiration goes, recipes are great, but I find myself incapable of following them too closely. There's always ingredients I don't like or have, and ingredients that I want to add. Also, I hate measuring. Too much work, and too boring. It's way more fun to just throw a bit of this, a dash of that, and a handful of the other thing into a pot. Somehow, I've had very few disasters with this method.
I started this blog because I enjoy taking pictures of my food, which I tend to post on Facebook. People kept asking for recipes, so I decided to start the blog in order to share the pictures and recipes with more people. I use the term "recipes" loosely...since I don't measure I can rarely tell you exactly how I made something, but I try to use pictures to show you amounts...
